Sheik Uztaz Elias Alhassan has declared against the opening of mosques for prayers in the region amidst the government’s earlier reports declaring Friday, June 5, 2020 as an opening for Muslim Prayers.
Spokesperson, Alhaji Alhassan Nasirudin, has with the words of the regional chief Iman gone against government’s effort and will still adhere to the earlier restrictions. The region will hold on for a while as reported by Skyy Power FM.

Coronavirus cases in Western Region
The Western Region has currently recorded 456 positive cases of the novel Coronavirus as of Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
The Tarkwa-Nsuaem leads with the highest number of cases in the region 174 followed by the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis with 151 while Effia Kwesimintsim and Prestea Huni-Valley have recorded 41 and 32 cases respectively.
According to the Western Regional Health Directorate, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality has the highest pending results, 2,033 but the region’s total pending cases is at 5219 cases.

Ten have recovered from the disease in the Western Region with only one death case.
