Musa Lamidi, 27, was placed under remand at a correctional facility on Wednesday by an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for the suspected murder of his father, Rufai.
Lamidi, who did not have a definite residence, was accused of murder.
Due to a lack of jurisdiction, Magistrate Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun rejected Lamidi’s appeal and ordered the police to send the case file back to the DPP for legal counsel.
For mention, he postponed the matter to July 10.
ASP Musbau Lawal, the prosecutor, had previously told the court that Lamidi had committed the crime in Eruwa, Oyo State, on May 11 at approximately 11 p.m.
He claimed that Lamidi killed his father by striking him in the forehead with a stick.
Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000, he claimed, was broken by the offense.
