After four years of court injunctions, the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has finally announced date for its elections.[ads2]
A press release from the National Executive Committee of the Union indicate that the elections will be held on August 8, 2023.
According to the acting President of the Union, Bessa Simons, the NEC of the union had met in a crunch emergency meeting to review and approve the proposed blueprint by the election committee.[ads3]
“According to the roadmap, the voters register has been opened from March 20 to April 3, 2023. This is to allow members to check their status and eligibility. Thereafter, the new voters’ register for the election will be compiled from April 4 to April 18, 2023,” he said in the signed press release.

The roadmap to the upcoming elections will include an exhibition of a new voter register from April 20 to April 23, 2023, followed by campaigns of the various candidates ahead of the August 8 elections across the nation.
MUSIGA has never conducted an election since the tenure of Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obuor came to an end in 2019.[ads4]
