The Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MISUGHA) has officially launched its Western Regional Branch at a ceremony held in Takoradi, marking a significant step in the union’s efforts to strengthen organised support for Ghana’s national teams across the country.

The event was graced by the Member of Parliament for the Kwesimintsim Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Fiifi Buckman, who attended as a special guest. Addressing the gathering, he assured members of the government’s support for organised supporter groups and expressed his delight at the successful inauguration of MISUGHA’s Western Regional Branch. He described the launch as timely and important for promoting unity, discipline and patriotism through sports support.
As part of the event, a 12-member executive body, made up of the Chairman Phinnehas Perry Brown and 11 other officers, was formally sworn in to oversee the affairs of the Western Regional Branch. The executives will be responsible for mobilising supporters, coordinating activities in the region and promoting disciplined and patriotic support for Ghana’s national teams.

National President of MISUGHA, Abubakar Dawud, charged the newly inaugurated branch to remain consistent in its support for Ghana’s national teams. He cautioned members against limiting their enthusiasm to major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, stressing that true support must be shown to all national teams at all times, regardless of the competition or level.
The launch ceremony attracted supporters, sports enthusiasts and stakeholders, and was characterised by a strong sense of unity and optimism about the role MISUGHA is expected to play in boosting morale and organised support for Ghanaian sports, particularly football, in the Western Region.

With the Western Regional Branch now fully operational, MISUGHA is expected to deepen its grassroots presence and contribute meaningfully to the growth of a vibrant and disciplined supporters’ culture nationwide.
