The precocious musician has pulled out of the competition after weeks of criticisms by some music honchos and followers.
The criticisms
Aya Ramzy B has been highly criticised after appearing for audition for this year’s Mentor X music reality show organised by Ghanaian Media conglomerate Media General – the operators of TV3, 3FM, Onua TV, Onua FM, Akoma FM and Connect FM.[ads3]
According to the critics, the Mentor XI competition is meant for up and coming musicians and since Aya Ramzy B is the reigning Western music awards artiste of the year, he is above Mentor despite the enormous benefits the winner of the competition get.
Even though the Mentor platform showcase the artiste to a larger audience since it is aired on a national television, many of the critics were of the view that for Aya Ramzy B to audition for Mentor is a total disrespect to the Western Music Awards which is the biggest music awards scheme in the Western region.
To them Aya Ramzy B won the artiste of the year award beating the likes of Keche, Ayesem, Dopenation, Fameye and others for the enviable award hence the reason for the several criticisms.[ads4]
His withdrawal
In a statement, Aya Ramzy B indicated that the decision to withdraw from the competition is to enable young talents to seize that opportunity.
He noted that the decision to withdraw from the music reality show was after seeking advice from highly-respected personalities in the region.
