Renowned female sports journalist, Madam Amy Fynn-Thompson has been appointed the Chairperson of the Western Regional Football Association’s Women’s Football Committee.
The Rok FM employee was handed the role by the Executive Council of the Association after a marathon meeting on Saturday, July 25, 2020.

Amy Fynn-Thompson, a pioneer of women’s football in the Western Region will head a nine-member Committee made up of six females and three males who are highly-revered in the region.
The Committee has been tasked to help revive women’s football in the Western Region with their vast experience in the game.
With her knowledge in women’s football, Amy Fynn-Thompson will be assisted by Mrs. Adelaide Adjoa Amofa Arthur as her vice.

Other members of the Committee include; Samuel Koomson, Margaret Cudjoe, Ben Hassan, Janet Cudjoe, Muniru Ussher, Gladys Boatema ad Aguadze Dofuei Gifty.
About Amy Fynn-Thompson
Amy Fynn-Thompson became a member of the Western Regional Women’s football committee in 2006 before she joined the executive council in 2011.

She was a member of the local organizing committee of the 2018 African Women Championship which was hosted in Ghana.
Due to her enormous contributions to the growth of women’s Football in the Western Region and Ghana as a whole, Amy Fynn-Thompson was awarded by West Prime in their 2013 sports awards held in Takoradi.
Amy Fynn-Thompson who currently works with Rok FM at Western Region was a venue media officer for the women’s premier league before the season was cancelled due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
