The Western Regional U-17 team defeated the Ghana Black Starlets in a friendly at the Gyandu Park in Sekondi on Saturday afternoon.
The encounter was a preparatory match for the Black Starlets ahead of the upcoming WAFU ‘B’ U-17 tournament to be held in Benin next month.

Dreams FC youngster, Baba Hamadu Musah and Obed Ansah scored brace each with Kingsley Baffour and Anthony Quainoo netting a goal each for the Western Regional U-17 team.
Even though, the Western Region side dominated the game, the Black Starlets performed to the satisfaction of all the spectators.

Skipper Abdul Fatawu scored a hat-trick for the Black Starlets before Majeed Mashud added the fourth goal for the national team.
Abdul Fatawu was a delight to watch on the day as he scored a sumptuous free-kick to seal a hat-trick during the match.

The Black Starlets will continue their preparations for the upcoming WAFU ‘B’ U-17 tournament in Benin.
The West African side have been drawn in group B with Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
