Prince Opoku Agyemang scored the only goal as Medeama Sporting Club defeated Asante Kotoko 1:0 at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Wednesday afternoon.

The former New Edubiase lanky goal poacher scored from the spot as early as the second minute to annex all three points for Medeama.
Kotoko defender Agyemang Badu brought down youngster Agyenim Boateng in the penalty box of which referee Jones Akubiem whistled for a penalty.
Opoku Agyemang converted the ball beautifully to send Medeama to the lead in the second minute of the game.
Kotoko quickly regrouped and revitalized to get the equaliser but the efforts of Songne Yacouba, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Augustine Okrah and Martin Antwi were fruitless.
Burkinabe import Songne Yacouba nearly restored parity for the Porcupine Warriors in the 36th minute as his effort from Imoro Ibrahim’s cross from the left wing went over the bar.
Martin Antwi also had a glaring opportunity in the 44th minute as he fed on Kwame Adom’s pass but curled the ball a whisker of the right post.
The first forty five minute ended 1:0 for the home side who were delight to watch.
The recess begun with Emmanuel Gyamfi coming close to the equaliser as his shot from inside the penalty box was blocked by the Medeama defenders.
In the 60th minute, Imoro Ibrahim received his second yellow after a bad play on a Medeama player,and was sent out of the game.

Ten-man Kotoko side never gave up as Songne Yacouba fed on Emmanuel Gyamfi’s pass in the 65th minute, created a yard for himself but shot the ball to the upright.
Coach Maxwell Konadu started loading defenders to the game as Patrick Yeboah replaced Emmanuel Gyamfi in the 87th minute.
Songne Yacouba too was substituted for Sam Adams despite the Burkina Faso international proving deadly upfront.
Despite both sides creating glaring chances, the result of the game didn’t change as Medeama held on to the 1:0 lead till the blast of the final whistle.
