Asante Kotoko defeated Liberty Professionals in week eight of the Ghana Premier League in Accra on Monday.
The Porcupine Warriors resoundingly smacked the Scientific Soccer Lads 2:0 at the Accra Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Striker Kwame Opoku was the hero of the day as his two goals propelled Asante Kotoko to defeat Liberty Professionals.[ads2]
Coach Johnson Smith’s side started the game on a good note with the likes of Fabio Gama, Kwame Opoku, Emmanuel Sarkodie and William Opoku Mensah coming close to the opener.
In just ten minutes into the first half, Kwame Opoku broke the virginity for Asante Kotoko with Brazilian Fabio Dos Santos Gama on the assist card.[ads3]
The Porcupine Warriors continued to open fire on Liberty Professionals until Kwame Opoku had the second goal in the 19th minute of the game.
It was a well calculated pass from Fabio Gama that led to Kwame Opoku netting the second for Asante Kotoko to end the first half.[ads4]
Both clubs returned from the tunnel with much eagerness but failed to change the scoreline.
