Kumasi-based Nhyira FM have reported that Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto is leaving the club at the end of the season.
According to the report, coach Barreto has decided not to continue his job as the head coach of the Porcupine Warriors when the ongoing league season is over.[ads2]
He joined the Ghana Premier League heavyweight in March, 2021 after the sacking of coach Maxwell Konadu in December last year – following the team’s abysmal performance in the early stages of the league season.[ads3]
Since joining Asante Kotoko, coach Mariano Barreto has revamped the spirit of the team and now sit second on the league log with 57 points after 32 matches, just three points adrift leaders Hearts of Oak.
Meanwhile, the 2020/2021 campaign has two remaining matches with Kotoko facing Bechem United next week and Elmina Sharks FC in a fortnight.[ads5]
