Former Black Stars striker, Malik Jabir has expressed his shock over the sacking of Maxwell Konadu as head coach of Asante Kotoko.
According to the renowned tactician, the decision from Asante Kotoko to sack coach Maxwell Konadu has come at the wrong time especially now that the club has CAF Champions League game against Al Hilal from Sudan in next few days.[ads2]
Speaking on Kumasi-based Ashh FM, coach Malik Jabir stated that he wasn’t expecting Asante Kotoko to part ways with coach Maxwell Konadu therefore the decision comes as very shocking to him as football person.
“Everyone wasn’t expecting this news sack of Coach Maxwell Konadu. It’s too early to take the decision to sack Maxwell Konadu”, Jabir said.[ads3]
“I didn’t believe Kotoko will sack its coach. I was shocked when they sack Maxwell. We should have taken time to play at least ten matches before purchasing of players after manhyia banned signing of players”, he added.
Coach Maxwell Konadu was sacked as the head coach of Asante Kotoko on Friday morning after Ghana Premier League defeat to Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.[ads4]
The former Black Stars assistant coach has been sacked from Asante Kotoko on mutual consent after spending a year at the club.
Asante Kotoko have therefore appointed second assistant coach Johnson Smith to serve as interim for the meantime..[ads5]
