Former Asante Kotoko head coach Anthony K Edusei has implored the Ghana Football Association to maintain Mr. Francis Oti Akenteng as the Technical Director.

Oti Akenteng brings his job as the Technical Director of the GFA to an end by the close of March after decade in charge of the position.
Already the GFA has begun the search for a new Technical Director to replace the former Ghanaian Olympic athlete.
Coach Bashiru Hayford recently expressed interest in the Technical Director role after quitting his job as the National team head coach of Somalia.

Although some renowned local coaches including Bashiru Hayford have expressed interest in the role, coach Anthony K Edusei who happens to be a CAF Instructor and a former Black Queens head coach believes the GFA should maintain Oti Akenteng for the meantime.
“A Technical Director needs a knowledgeable people to work with. A Technical Director will also need a professional Coaches to help in training coaches.
“I’m sure Ghana Football Association have their own criteria for appointing a technical director but for me technical director must be someone who really understand football and its development. In appointing a technical director, age is a secondly matter.

“For me, Oti Akenteng is very experience than any other coaches when its comes to technical directorate role. It’s good to maintain Oti Akenteng but maybe Oti Akenteng himself thinks is time to pave way for others to continue.
“As it stand now I don’t know the criteria Ghana football Association will use to appoint its technical director”, Coach Edusei told Ashh FM.
