Ghana Premier League heavyweight, Asante Kotoko were held to a 1:1 stalemate by Laliga Academy in a preseason friendly on Thursday.
This was the third game for Kotoko who are in the United Arab Emirates preparing for the upcoming Ghana Premier League.[ads2]
Skipper for the night Mudasiru Salifu broke the deadlock for Kotoko from the spot after defender Christopher Nettey’s cross hit the hand of Laliga Academy defender.
Despite dominating possession, Kotoko couldn’t keep hold of the lead as Laliga Academy managed to get the equalizer in the dying embers of the game also from the spot.[ads3]
The draw means Kotoko couldn’t get a single victory in their three preseason matches, losing to Al-Hilal United and sharing the spoils with Liwa FC.
The game marks Asante Kotoko last match of the preseason tour in Dubai.
Asante Kotoko will commence their 2021/22 league campaign with a trip to Dawu to face Dreams FC.[ads5]
