CK Akonnor, the head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana has said, former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi was treated unfairly.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, an astute lawyer and former Ghana FA boss was stripped off all his positions in football by FIFA after the Anas Aremayaw Anas “Number 12” expose.
Kwesi Nyantakyi was seen in the video accepting a gift which goes contrary to the FIFA ethics.
He was found guilty of “conflicts of interest”, “bribery and corruption” and “commission” and was banned from football related activities for the rest of his life by FIFA.
Kwesi Nyantakyi deemed the decision from FIFA has unfair and has made an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
But speaking to Bola Ray on Starr FM, CK Akonnor believes how Kwesi Nyantakyi was brought down within few days after everything he has achieved is worrying.
“I mean I experienced Nyantakyi, Kurt Okraku is now coming up so we can speak much about him but we hope things will go well for him” Akonnor said.
“I also experience Ben Coffie, Nana Battler and others But Nyantakyi, it was unfair because for a man to have work like this, he might have had his own mistakes and all that but the way we brought him down, I think it was a bit worrying,” he said.
Kwesi Nyantakyi is also facing legal battles with the state but a plea has been initiated by some Ghanaian football administrators to have him freed.
