Former Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has been charged with fraud.
The Accra High Court on Wednesday slapped Kwesi Nyantakyi with three charges including fraud alongside former GFA Executive Committee member Abdulai Alhassan who was also charged with a conspiracy to commit fraud and fraud as well.

During court proceedings on Wednesday March 4, 2020, the Principal State Attorney Victoria Asiedu stated vehemently that the two executed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of a non-existent company claiming to be attracting sponsorship for the Ghana Premier League.
She further told the court that the two individuals demanded 12 million dollars from the supposed investors promising to land them major contracts in Ghana.
The Prosecutor explained that Mr. Nyantakyi said the $12m will be distributed as follows; 5 million dollars for the President, 3 million dollars for the Vice President, 2 million dollars for the Roads and Highway’s Minister, 1 million dollars for his Deputy with the rest deserved for the Mr. Nyantakyi and Mr. Alhassan.

It will be recalled that, the former CAF first vice President was captured in a documentary video by Ghanaian undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, using the name of President Akufo-Addo to peddle influence.
After the documentary was aired nationwide by Tiger Eye PI in June 2018, the government has been doing everything possible to take legal actions against Kwesi Nyantakyi.
During the proceedings today, the court charged Kwesi Nyantakyi with three charges namely; conspiracy to commit fraud, fraud and corruption by public officer.

He was however granted one million dollars bail with three sureties, one to be justified same conditions was applied to Mr. Alhassan.
The two are also required to report every Friday at the police CID with the case adjourned to March 25 for case management conference.
