Asante Kotoko General Manager Nana Akwasi Gyambibi (Nana Coker) has revealed that his outfit could playing their league matches under floodlights.
According to him, talks are ongoing with the Ghana Football Association to reschedule their home matches as they prefer to play at night.
‘It’s true that we [Kotoko] have chosen to play our home matches at the Accra Sports Stadium.
‘We’ve arranged and talks are in place to inform the FA so that all our home games will be played at night under the floodlights”, Nana Coker told Ashh FM.
This comes after the club chose to play their home matches at the Accra Sports Stadium following the sudden closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ahead of the upcoming Independence Day Celebration.
Nana Coker also spelled out the reasons why the club decided on Accra Sports Stadium despite news of going to Bechem and even Cape Coast.
“We chose Accra over other places due to the fact that we believed we have a lot of supporters in the Greater Accra region and in terms of travelling we felt Accra is the most convenient place.
“We are not bothered by the fact that Hearts of Oak plays at that same venue, we believe we can survive there.

“This is purely management decision but there is a supporters leader who is also part of management and by so doing there wasn’t any need to involve supporters.
“We will resend our discission and return to Baba Yara if the venue is opened after the independent anniversary”, he concluded.
