The owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has banned the club from signing new players for a year.
The move from the Asantehene is to help the club build it’s youth side to feed the senior team.
This was communicated to the newly formed board members of the Ghana Premier League heavyweight by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Kofi Badu during their inaugural ceremony today.

“Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has directed that Asante Kotoko should not sign any new player for the first team for a period of one year. The club has enough players to serve them for the period in question.” Kofi Badu Chief of Staff, Manhyia Palace told media men.
The Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace, Mr. Kofi Badu urged the nine-member Board to adhere strictly to the directives from the Asantehene to make the club self financing and self sustaining.
