Ghana Premier League falcons, Asante Kotoko have announced new captains ahead of next league season.
The Porcupines have appointed defender Abdul Ganiyu has the first team captain after renewing his contract untill 2023.
This comes following the departure of goalkeeper and main captain Felix Annan and deputy skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi.[ads2]
The Ghana Premier league record holders have appointed goalkeeper Razak Abalora as the deputy skipper with midfielder Mudasiru Salifu as the second deputy captain.
This forms part of the structuring process as the Porcupine Warriors prepare for the 2021/22 league season after going last season without a trophy.[ads3]
Kotoko as part of strengthening squad for the next season, have secured the acquisition of nine players which includes Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang, Collins Opoku, Isaac Oppong, Samuel Appiah, Richard Boadu, Samuel Boateng, Augustine Agyapong and Sheriff Mohammed.
To accommodate the new signings, Asante Kotoko have parted ways with players like Felix Annan, Wahab Adams, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Naby Keita, Augustine Okrah, Habib Mohammed and Martin Antwi.
Some players like Samuel Frimpong, Osman Ibrahim are expected to go on loan deals for regular playing time in the 2021/22 league season.[ads5]
