Hearts of Oak head coach Kim Grant has revealed why talisman Joseph Esso was excluded from the team’ squad-list for Kotoko clash today.

Esso and Fatawu Mohammed were dropped from the Phobians 20-man squad for Asante Kotoko clash in the replay of the 2019 President’s Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi today.
Speaking after the game today, Grant explained that, Joseph Esso was down with malaria for the last four to five days and clearly not fit for the big clash.
According to Grant, the goal poacher is expected to resume full training in the coming days ahead of the upcoming league season.

Hearts of Oak were beaten 2:1 in the replay of the President’s Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium courtesy an own goal from defender Mohammed Alhassan and a stunner from Naby Keita with Kofi Kordzi pulling the consolation for the Phobians.
Hearts of Oak will travel back to Accra on Monday to continue preparations for the upcoming league season set for December 28, 2019.
