The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has described the election of NDC’s Alban Bagbin as the speaker of the 8th Parliament.
According to Obiri Boahen, the election of Alban Bagbin as the speaker for the 8th Parliament came as very shocking to the NPP since the party were slight ahead of the NDC.[ads2]
“We are very sad and have even lost appetite. We are even thinking of the loss of many seats and this has also happened,” NPP Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen bemoaned
Alban Bagbin was elected the speaker for the 8th Parliament on Thursday dawn after the dissolution of the 7th Parliament.[ads3]
Speaking in an interview, Nana Obiri Boahen said, “If nothing at all we have 137 Parliamentarians and one independent candidate so what happened for one vote to be spoilt. And the person who didn’t vote for the NPP is very regrettable”, Nana Obiri Boahen lamented.[ads4]
“I’m very sad Prof. Mike Oquaye didn’t win.” the NPP Deputy General Secretary said..
