Asante Kotoko board member Mr. Kofi Abban is optimistic that now is the time to bring the club back to where it belongs as one of the heavyweight in Africa.
Kotoko was among the heavyweights in African Football then, winning the then African Cup of Champions on two occasions and a finalist in the CAF Confederation Cup, losing it to bitterest rival Hearts of Oak in 2004.
The Ghana Premier League holders (24) were among the six CAF 21st century best clubs after Al Ahly, Esperance, Etoile du Sahel, Zamalek and TP Mazembe.

Though the club has been struggling of late in Africa, Mr. Kofi Abban who is the CEO of Rigworld Group and a member of the newly formed Asante Kotoko Board believes, it is their task to make the team great again.
On his Twitter page, he wrote that, It’s time to make ASANTE KOTOKO great Again
