Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has apologized and retracted his comment he made about Ghana’s biggest political parties NPP and NDC as cause of Black Stars trophy drought.
The Black Stars of Ghana has not been able to lay hands on any major trophy since winning the 1982 AFCON in Libya.
Asked in an interview the cause of the Black Stars trophy drought, the combative midfielder disclosed that the two biggest political parties have been playing politics around the Black Stars and this according to him, has been the reason why Ghana is not able to lift a trophy since 1982.

His comment sparked an unheated discourse in the country since he is considered as an influential figure in the Black Stars.

But after careful deliberations, the Jiangsu Sunning midfielder has come out to apologise, stating that his comment was not to malign any political party.

He took to his official twitter page to apologise to Ghanaians and the leadership of the two biggest political parties in the country.

Mubarak Wakaso has been with the Black Stars of Ghana since making his debut in 2012 and has capped 58 times, scoring 12 goals.
