Former Black Stars and Chelsea legend Micheal Essien says he would love to play alongside compatriot and Atletico Madrid sensation Thomas Partey.
Essien, regarded as one of the best midfielders to have emerged from Africa believes Partey is currently the best and wished he play with him on the same pitch.

The 37-year old who has played with world greatest midfielders like Claude Makelele, Frank Lampard, Mahamadou Diarra and host of others, stated that he would love to play with Thomas Partey but that won’t happen.
Essien was speaking in an interview with South African journalist Carol Tshabalala where he made such comment.

“Thomas [Partey] is such a good player. I’d have loved to play with him. He is a young and talented player making waves in Europe. He is one player I’d liked to play alongside but it will never happen.”
“It is their time at the Black Stars now so we have to support them and hopefully they can take if from where we left off.”
Thomas Partey is currently a transfer target for top European clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United with the Emirates side leading the race.
