Ghana forward Richmond Boakye-Yaidom has said he will surely play for Asante Kotoko before retiring from football.
According to the 27-year old, he has plans of playing for Asante Kotoko before hanging his boots because he has been a fan of the Ghana Premier League giant since childhood.[ads2]
“I am a Ashanti and will play for Asante Kotoko before I retire”, Boakye-Yaidom told Accra-based Happy FM.
“I am a fan of the club and definitely I will play for at least a year before I retire. If you want to play for Kotoko you have to train harder and be consistent”, he added.[ads3]
Boakye-Yaidom is currently without a club after his contract with Red Star Belgrade elapsed in December last year.
The talented attacker is currently in Ghana awaiting for a deal in the ongoing transfer window.[ads4]
He capped over 100 matches for Red Star Belgrade, scoring about 60 goals in all competitions for the club.
Boakye-Yaidom has played for clubs like Juventus, Atlanta, Genoa, Latina, Elche, Red Star Belgrade and a host other clubs[ads5]
