Asante Kotoko teenager Matthew Anim Cudjoe has said he wants to reach the level of FC Barcelona and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.
Anim Cudjoe is likened to Lionel Messi because of his style of play and the left-footed teenager wants to reach the level of the six times FIFA Ballon d’Or winner.

Anim Cudjoe is not targeting only the level of Lionel Messi but that of three times African Footballer of the year Abedi Pele and Ghana’s all-time leading topscorer Asamoah Gyan.
“I am focusing on my game, I am training, sleeping well and following the instructions that my father (Samuel Anim Cudjoe), coaches and my teammates are giving me.

“I listen to them a lot and always try to do what they tell me to do. If God permits, I can reach the level where Lionel Messi, Abedi Pele, and Asamoah Gyan reached. That’s my target”, Anim Cudjoe told Kotoko Express.

The 16-year old joined Asante Kotoko on a season-long loan deal in December last year from division one league outfit Young Apostles.

He has been instrumental for Asante Kotoko since joining the team and currently remains as one of the few players in the domestic league loved by many Ghanaian football loving fans.
His incredible performance for Asante Kotoko earned him a week successful trials at German Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich.
