The owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has charged the management of the club to conquer Africa after winning the Ghana Premier League.
He said this when the team presented the Ghana Premier League trophy to him at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Monday, June 13, 2022.
According to Otumfuo, it has been a long time since he set eyes on a continental trophy at his palace, and would love if the current Kotoko management can make his dream come true.
“I congratulate you for winning the league title, now, you are going to Africa, I will urge you, the CEO, coach and the players to win Africa because it’s been a while he laid hands on the title.
“As a team, you need to remain united to be able to succeed” he said.
Asante Kotoko were crowned champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
The Porcupine Warriors will have to play Accra Lions to end the league season with their Cameroonian striker Franck Mbella Etouga also on the verge of winning the topscorers award.
