Hasaacas Ladies head coach, Yusif Basigi has said he has handled the club for almost two decades without receiving a salary.
The astute tactician joined Hasaacas Ladies in 2003 when the club was established and has been coaching the team for the past eighteen years.[ads2]
And despite the successes, coach Basigi has disclosed that he has never received a salary since joining the club as head coach in 2003.
“I have been coaching Hasaacas Ladies for 18 years. I’m the first coach of the team when it was formed in June 2003. I have coached all these years without a salary. My joy is seeing a lot of young girls transforming their lives through football,” he told Takoradi-based Ahoto FM.[ads3]
Coach Basigi has had a spectacular year with Hasaacas Ladies, winning five trophies out of the six different competitions they participated in the year 2021.
Hasaacas Ladies participated in six different competitions this year which includes the Ghana Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, Ghana Super Cup, First Lady’s Cup, WAFU CUP and the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Out of the six competitions that Hasaacas Ladies participated, the team won five trophies, lost only the CAF Champions League to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa after a 2:0 defeat in the final.[ads4]
Domestically, Hasaacas Ladies won the Ghana Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, Super Cup and the maiden edition of the First Lady’s Cup after beating rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the final.
They also won the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Cup held in Ivory Coast, beating Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in a cagey final.[ads5]
