Electronic company Hisense have presented a cheque of Gh¢135,000.00 to Ghana Premier league heavyweight Asante Kotoko.
According to Kotoko, this is a reward package from Hisense for not losing 27 matches of this season’s Ghana Premier league.[ads2]
The Porcupines entered a partnership agreement with the electronic company in November, 2020 after fruitful negotiations.
The deal worth GH3million for three years with several other incentive packages for players. The sponsorship is both in cash and products.[ads3]
After signing the deal, Hisense paid GHC 500,000 cash for the first year, with the rest expected to be delivered in products.
Per the contract, an amount of GHC 230,000 will be pumped in the development of the Adako Jachie training complex.
Additional incentives includes, GHC 5000 to the team when they keep a clean sheet.[ads4]
Despite sponsoring Kotoko, Hisense promised to reward any player who scores a winning goal against Kotoko with GHC 5000. The idea was to support players in the domestic league.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko finished second on the league log, losing the league title to bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak.[ads5]
