Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak will play their remaining home matches at the Accra Sports Stadium following the temporary closure of the University of Ghana Stadium for renovation works.
The Phobians had initially started the season at the Accra Sports Stadium but opted to relocate, citing operational challenges, particularly the high cost of hosting matches. Supporters also raised concerns over the team’s poor run of results at the venue, which many believed was affecting performance.
However, the switch to the University of Ghana Stadium has not yielded the desired turnaround. Hearts of Oak have continued to struggle for consistency, with results falling short of expectations for a club of their stature and ambitions.
The renovation at the Legon-based facility now forces the club into a return to their former home ground—ironically, the same venue they had earlier abandoned.
With the season entering a crucial phase, attention will now shift to whether the change of venue can spark a revival or further compound what has already been a challenging campaign for the Phobians.
