Hasaacas Ladies have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of the First Lady’s Cup.
The First Lady’s Cup was organised by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), touted as the female version of the President Cup to honour the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo.[ads2]
Hasaacas Ladies defeated rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies 4:3 on penalty shootouts after 1:1 in regulation at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Sonia Opoku opened the deadlock for Ampem Darkoa Ladies in just 28 minutes into the game but Jamaru Rahman had the equaliser for Hasaacas Ladies in the 65th minute.[ads3]
Coach Yusif Basigi’s charges were crowned winners of the competition after winning 4:3 on penalty shootouts.
Hasaacas Ladies have now won fifth trophy of the year 2021 – winning the Ghana Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, Super Cup and the maiden edition of the WAFU Cup of Nations.[ads5]
