Former Ghana international, Charles Taylor, has said newly-signed Hearts of Oak midfielder Gladson Awako is currently far better than Mubarak Wakaso.
According to the former Kotoko and Hearts of Oak winger, Mubarak Wakaso has declined in performance and currently not better than Gladson Awako who just signed for Hearts of Oak.
“Awako is currently better than Wakaso,” Taylor told Angel FM in Accra.[ads2]
“The Black Stars National team is not for anybody, if you say it people will say you are hating.
“Awako protects the ball better and passes the ball well than wakaso.His tackles are not good, I’m stating a fact.
Charles Taylor made the comment after the Black Stars shambolic performance in the two games of the 2022 world cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.
Ghana narrowly defeated Ethiopia by 1:0 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium with Mubarak Wakaso scoring the only goal. The team failed to even returned to Ghana with a point after second game against South Africa in Johannesburg.[ads3]
Despite Wakaso scoring Ghana’s only goal, Charles Taylor believes he has dipped in form and currently not a better player than former TP Mazembe midfielder Gladson Awako.
On CK Akonnor players selection for the Black Stars, Charles Taylor said, “If CK wants to continue coaching the team he should be firm and open his eyes.”[ads5]
