The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received one million Ghana cedis (Gh¢1,000,000) from the Youth and Sports Ministry to assist the eighteen premier league clubs.
It would be recalled that President Akufo-Addo directed the Finance Ministry to release as soon as possible and amount of GH¢900,000 to assist the eighteen clubs..[ads2]
This is to support the expenses of the clubs in this Coronavirus period especially when the government ordered that all league matches must be played behind closed doors.
Few hours after the order from the President, the Ghana Football Association has announced that it has received Gh¢1million from the government through the sports ministry.[ads3]
“The Ministry of Youth & Sports has presented an amount of One Million Cedis to the GFA. The amount is to assist the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs for the 2020/21 season”, GFA announced.

This is the first tranche of the financial support from the government with the second tranche to hit the account of the Ghana FA soon..[ads5]
