An executive member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr Tony Aubynn has said the association did everything possible for the Black Stars to have a successful tournament.[ads2]
Ghana failed to progress from the group stage of the 2022 World Cup after winning a single game and losing two matches.
The exit of the Black Stars from the tournament has seen the Ghana FA and its leaders heavily criticised.[ads3]
But Dr Aubynn believes the Ghana FA put in efforts to ensure the Black Stars progress to a respectable stage at the mundial but all went fruitless.
“The materials available was what the coaches used, the FA did everything right (via motivation), we just didn’t do well. Will the Germany also apologize for their exit?” he quizzed while speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
“Because people tipped them(Germany) as favorite but were eliminated, they told themselves it’s a building process same as Morocco. We just need to give our players the needed time since we are building,” he added.
Ghana will now shift attention to the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers where the country is leading its group.[ads4]
