President Akufo-Addo has assured that football in Ghana will return very soon.
Football activities in Ghana have been suspended since March 2020 due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Due to the suspension of football activities, the Ghana Football Association cancelled the 2019/20 league season after a marathon meeting but chose Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold Sporting Club to represent Ghana in CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively.
Already the Ghana Football Association are planning for the 2020/2021 league season with date and venue announced for its Congress.
In an interview on Skyy Power FM in Takoradi monitored by Kyfilla.com, President Akufo-Addo assured that football will return soon with consultations ongoing.

“Everybody knows I love football and the suspension has also affected me but it will be back very soon.. I don’t want to do anything that will hurt Ghanaians. I believe in one step at a time so gradually football will be back”, Akufo-Addo said.
