Board Member for Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akambi has said Asante Kotoko starman Fabio Gama is not a player for African club competitions.
Alhaji Akambi who has vast experience in football administration believes the Brazilian midfielder is not quality enough for African club competitions.[ads2]
Bisecting why Hearts of Oak won the Ghana Premier league at the expense of Asante Kotoko on Kumasi-based Ashh FM, Alhaji Akambi stated that his outfit have better and quality players than their bitterest rivals which propelled them to lift the league trophy – a trophy which has eluded the team since 2009.
He believes the Asante Kotoko players come nowhere close to that of Hearts of Oak in terms of quality and the level of play throughout the league season.[ads3]
And now that Hearts of Oak will represent Ghana in the next season’s CAF Champions League after winning the Ghana Premier league, Alhaji Akambi is optimistic that his outfit will make Ghana proud in Africa though it will be the first time most of their players will be on that stage against the giants in African football.
Meanwhile, this season triumph means that Hearts of Oak have won the Ghana Premier league for twenty-one (21) times.[ads5]
