Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold Sporting Club have booked a spot in the FA Cup after defeating Kintampo Top Talent on Saturday.
The Miners defeated the lower tier side 4:2 in a crunchy encounter at the Lenclay Sports Stadium to secure a semifinal spot.[ads2]
Tagged as the underdog prior to the game, Kintampo Top Talent FC gave AshantiGold a tough opposition but couldn’t maintain their toughness throughout the game despite scoring two goals.
Goals from Frank Akoto, Isaac Opoku Agyemang, Paul Asare de Vris and Amos Addai were enough to give AshantiGold an important victory in front of their supporters in Obuasi.[ads3]
Though AshantiGold scored four goals, Top Talent managed to reduce the tally with AshantiGold defender Kwadwo Amoako scoring an own goal while Prince Kofi Sarkodie netted the other for the lower tier side.
