Fast-rising Ghanaian female singer, Sefadzi Amesu popularly known in showbiz as Sefa has shared her opinion on why artistes in Ghana have failed to clinch Grammy awards unlike their peers from Nigeria.
It has been a growing discussion in the Ghanaian media space as to what could possibly be the reason why artistes in the country have not been able to achieve such a milestone in their musical career.
Even though some artistes have had works that they were featured on being nominated in the Grammy, many entertainment honchos have been wondering why these artistes haven’t had their own projects getting such recognitions at the international level.
One problem many of the entertainment bigheads have been pointing out is the genre of music Ghanaian artistes have been focusing but Sefa thinks otherwise.
According to the eChoke hit-maker, the genre of music is not the reason why Ghanaian artistes have failed to win Grammy awards, but rather lack of effective promotion has been the major problem.
“When talking about winning a Grammy award, the genre of music doesn’t matter but effective promotion….We have talented musicians who do good music but it goes nowhere. Even Patapaa can win a Grammy award with good promotion, so the genre doesn’t matter’, Sefa said in an interview with Abeiku Santana on UTV’s Atuu show…
