Renowned procurement expert, academic, and governance specialist, Dr Lord Emmanuel Yamoah, will on Friday, 23 January 2026, officially launch a new book that promises to reshape conversations around procurement and supply chain management in Ghana and across Africa.
The book offers a comprehensive and practice-oriented examination of procurement and supply chain management in contemporary times, positioning the discipline not merely as a compliance function but as a strategic driver of accountability, resilience, and sustainable development. Drawing from global theories, African realities, and Ghanaian institutional experiences, the work reflects the evolving nature of procurement in an increasingly complex economic and governance environment.

Unlike traditional academic texts, the book is deeply grounded in practice. It draws on real-life oversight cases, mediation and arbitration experiences, court decisions, and negotiated settlements to illustrate how procurement systems function in real institutional settings. This approach provides practical insights for students, procurement practitioners, policymakers, oversight bodies, and development partners seeking to strengthen value for money, ethical governance, and institutional performance.
Dr Yamoah’s multidisciplinary background is evident throughout the book.
With over eighteen years of cross-sectoral experience spanning mining, oil and gas, the public sector, consultancy, and academia, he brings a rare blend of technical expertise and real-world insight to the subject. His professional experience as a consultant, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mediator, fraud investigator, and professional counsellor enriches the book’s focus on integrity, compliance, and sustainable decision-making.
Currently a lecturer at Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and an adjunct lecturer with several institutions, including Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Wisconsin International University College, Coventry University (UK), and the Institute of Commercial Management (UK), Dr Yamoah is widely recognised for his contribution to capacity building in procurement, supply chain management, digital governance, and leadership.
The book reflects his strong interest in procurement, supply chain governance, and strategic leadership, offering readers a holistic view of procurement as a critical tool for accountability and sustainable development.
The launch on Friday is expected to attract academics, procurement professionals, students, policymakers, and institutional leaders, marking an important contribution to Ghana’s growing body of literature on public sector reform, governance, and sustainable development.
With this publication, Dr Lord Emmanuel Yamoah reinforces his standing as a thought leader in procurement and supply chain management and offers a timely resource for strengthening systems, institutions, and professional practice in Ghana and beyond.
