Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) has invited respected academic and TVET advocate, Dr Lord Emmanuel Yamoah, to chair the Grand Durbar marking the climax of its 2026 SRC Week celebrations.
The week-long SRC Week is scheduled to take place from January 19 to January 26, 2026, under the theme “Transforming Lives through TVET Skills.” The celebration is aimed at highlighting the pivotal role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in national development, skills acquisition, and youth empowerment.
The Grand Durbar, which serves as the high point of the celebrations, will be held on Friday, January 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the TTI Main Uncompleted Assembly Grounds.
In a formal invitation issued by the Management of Takoradi Technical Institute in collaboration with the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Dr Yamoah was described as an ideal choice to chair the event, given his distinguished academic career, extensive experience, and commitment to the advancement of TVET education in Ghana.
Management and SRC leadership expressed confidence that Dr Yamoah’s presence and guidance would add prestige to the durbar and inspire students, staff, and stakeholders gathered for the occasion. The invitation also reflects the Institute’s broader commitment to engaging accomplished professionals who have contributed meaningfully to education and skills development.
Dr Yamoah, a lecturer at Takoradi Technical University, is widely recognised for his work in academia and his advocacy for strengthening TVET systems as a pathway to sustainable development and employability.
The SRC Week celebration forms part of TTI’s annual calendar and provides a platform for dialogue, exhibitions, cultural displays, and activities that promote the value of technical education in transforming lives and communities.
