Samreboi-based club FC Samartex 1996 have been crowned the zone two champions of the 2021/22 division one league after thirty matches.u
The Timbers Boys accumulated 66 points, with 12 points separating them and second-placed Ebusua Dwarf – a former Ghana Premier League side.
During the coronation match at the Samartex Park on Sunday, June 12, the Green and White lads pipped New Edubiase 1:0 to climax the league season in a grand style.

By virtue of winning the zone two of the division one league, FC Samartex have been promoted to the next season’s Ghana Premier League alongside two clubs from the other zones.
This becomes the first time that FC Samartex have qualified for the Ghana Premier League after twenty-six years of its formation.
The club is financed by Samartex Timber and Plywood company headed by ace businessman Richard Nsenkyire and located in Samreboi as well as Amenfiman Rural Bank in the Western Region.
Former Asante Kotoko management member, Edmund Ackah is currently the General Manager of Samartex with enterprising football administrator Paul Anyaba as the Business Manager while sports broadcaster Kwasi Abronomah serve as the Communications officer.
Samartex will be playing its Premier League home matches at the Samartex Park which is currently under renovation and when completed will be a 7,000 capacity.
FC Samartex qualification means three clubs from the Western Region including Karela United, Medeama SC will partake in the Ghana Premier League next season alongside Bibiani Goldstars from the Western North Region.
