A Sekondi High Court has placed an injunction on the Western Regional Football Association’s Supper Middle League scheduled to begin on Friday, September 17, 2021.
The court has placed an injunction on the upcoming competition after receiving an ex-parte motion from the Western Regional Communications Director of the NDC, Richard Kirk Mensah to restrain the association from holding the competition.[ads2]
The competition was scheduled to have taken place starting from Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Ayinase with eight clubs to battle for the ticket to the division ine league next season.[ads3]
Kirk Mensah, argued in his writ that, Holy Stars, one of the qualified teams for the Supper Middle League belongs to the Chairman of the Western Region FA, Simon Ehomah and the venue for the competition is where the team was playing their home matches, hence the decision to play the super middle league at Ayinase not fair to the rest of the seven clubs.
