Ghanaian artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah popularly known as Bulldog has been convicted by the Circuit Court 10 for threatening President Akufo-Addo.[ads2]
The former Shatta Wale manager has been convicted to a fine of Gh¢48,000 or in a default serve a 40-day imprisonment.
Bulldog is standing trial for threatening President Akufo-Addo on UTV’s United Showbiz when the issue of Menzgold was raised where during the discussion the said if Menzgold customers are not paid, the President will not be able to complete his tenure.[ads3]
He said this on January 9, 2021 and he was part of panelists that appeared on an entertainment programme on UTV.
In his defence, Bulldog said he never intended to threaten the President or breach the peace.[ads4]
Rather, he said he wanted to appeal to the President’s conscience to help the customers of Menzgold.
He was however found guilty today after two years of trial by the court, presided over by Evelyn Asamoah.[ads5]
