Former Asante Kotoko gaffer Charles Kwablah Akonnor has been named the new Black Stars head coach.

The former Ghanaian international has been appointed the new Black Stars coach after the sacking of Kwesi Appiah.
The former Wolfsburg player will lead the Black Stars untill 2022 with Ibrahim Tanko reportedly named his deputy.

Before his new appointment, Akonnor was the Black Stars assistant coach before the dissolution of the various national team technical teams.
Akonnor has previously coached Sekondi Eleven Wise, Hearts of Oak, Ashgold Sporting Club and Asante Kotoko.
