Black Stars of Ghana head coach CK Akonnor has explained why Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay was excluded from the country’ squad for 2021 AFCON qualifier against Sudan.
Blay touted as one of the best players in the country’s domestic league currently was not among the four locally-based players named in the Black Stars squad-list.

Explaining his reason from snubbing the midfield dynamo, Akonnor said, “For Justice Blay, he didn’t make the squad because he was sick at the time and he only recently got back. I can assure that in the future he will get chance.”
Meanwhile, Ghana face Sudan in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers on March 27, 2020 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium with the return fixture scheduled for three days later.
