Head coach of the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars Carlos Queiroz, has begun a working tour of Europe as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Portuguese tactician, who was unveiled in Accra last week, started his duties locally by monitoring players within the home-based national team setup before departing for Europe last Sunday.
As part of the tour, Queiroz has already held discussions with key senior figures in the squad, including captain Jordan Ayew and midfielder Thomas Partey. The meetings form part of efforts to strengthen team cohesion and align players with his tactical vision.
The experienced coach is expected to engage a wider group of players across Europe, including both established names and emerging talents. He will also attend matches involving Ghanaian internationals as he assesses form and fitness ahead of the tournament.
Queiroz’s visit is aimed at communicating his football philosophy, outlining expectations, and building a competitive squad capable of delivering on the global stage. He is being supported on the tour by members of his technical team, who are assisting with scouting and player engagement.
Ghana will make their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama national football team, England national football team and Croatia national football team.
With preparations now underway, attention will turn to squad selection and tactical readiness as the Black Stars aim to make a strong impression at the tournament.
