Highly respected Ghanaian coach Bashiru Hayford has advised the Ghana Football Association to cancel the 2019/20 league season and use the induced break to secure better sponsorships for the Premier League.

The 2019/20 football season in Ghana has been suspended since March due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus in the country.
Many have called for the season to be cancelled but the Ghana FA have announced to determine the future of the league season in July 30.
However, the former Asante Kotoko head coach has suggested for the truncation of the season.

“I will advice the FA to cancel the league and use this time to seek for good sponsorship so they can package next season well. When we resume the league, we the coaches are going to suffer a lot because we are not like Europeans”, he said in an interview.
“At the moment we don’t have good facilities for training and facilities for testing and examining us for the coronavirus. All that I want to say is that the GFA should cancel the league and plan well for next season”, he added.
