Ghanaian champions, Asante Kotoko have been booted out of the CAF Champions League after losing 1:3 on penalty shootouts to RC Kadiogo in Kumasi on Sunday.[ads2]
It was game Asante Kotoko were tipped as favorite after winning the first leg by 1:0 in Benin kind courtesy a late minute strike from Isaac Oppong.
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium was almost full to capacity but that didn’t deter RC Kadiogo from playing their heart out as they managed to send the game to penalty shootouts with a 1:1 aggregate scoreline.
The Burkinabe outfit who had the first leg played on neutral ground due to the fact that CAF rejected their home venue, managed to win the penalty shootouts by 1:3 to advance to the next stage of the competition.[ads3]
