Former Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe has entreated Cameroonian Franck Mbella Etouga to break his ten goals in ten games record in Africa.
Bekoe had his over ten-year record as a player to score most goals in a single season for Kotoko broken after Franck Mbella scored his 18th league goal for the club against WAFA.
The former Petrojet goal poacher scored 17 goals for Kotoko in the 2007/08 season to become the player to score most goals in a season for the club.
Just after Mbella breaking his record, Eric Bekoe took to social media to congratulate the Cameroonian striker for surpassing his long-standing record despite playing in the Ghana Premier League for the very first time.
However, Bekoe has charged the Cameroonian striker to take Kotoko to Africa next season and try as much as possible to break his ten goals in ten games record with the club.
Speaking to Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, Eric Bekoe said, “I am happy that my seventeen (17) goals record at Kotoko has been broken by Mbella. He’s a fine player and I like what he is doing in the club, however there is another record that he has to work very hard to break and that is my 10 goals in 10 games in Africa.”
Meanwhile, Frank Mbella currently leads the Ghana Premier League topscorers log with nineteen goals with seven matches to end the season.
