Eighteen players have reported to the Black Stars’ camp at the Ana Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nagoya, Japan, as preparations continue ahead of Ghana’s international friendly against Japan in the 2025 Kirin Cup.
Sixteen players arrived on Tuesday to join home-based duo Kelvin Nkrumah and Prince Owusu, who departed Accra on Sunday.
Among those already in camp are goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang, defenders Derrick Kohn, Alidu Seidu, Gideon Mensah, and Jerome Opoku, as well as attackers Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Brandon Thomas-Asante. Midfielders Abu Francis, Kwasi Sibo, and Caleb Yirenkyi have also joined the squad.
Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare — who featured in the weekend’s Super Clash against Asante Kotoko — is expected to arrive on Wednesday, along with Christopher Bonsu Baah, Prince Osei Owusu, and Mohammed Salisu.
According to the Ghana Football Association’s itinerary, the Black Stars will train in Nagoya at 6 p.m. local time on Wednesday and Thursday before Friday’s showdown with Japan, scheduled for 7 p.m. Japan time (10 a.m. Ghana time).
The team will then travel to Seoul on Saturday to continue preparations for their second international friendly against South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, also at 10 a.m. Ghana time.
The two matches form part of Ghana’s ongoing preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, as Otto Addo’s side continues to rebuild following their absence from next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
