The astute Ghanaian tactician has stepped down from his position due to insecurity and Al Shabab attacks in Somalia.
He was appointed the head coach of the Somalia national team on a two-year deal in March 2019 after coach Abdulla Farayare left his position.

Bashiru Hayford led the Somalia national team to their first ever win against Zimbabwe in the preliminary round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
